Do you have a kind heart, enjoy chatting with people, and want a job where you can genuinely make a difference every single day?

At Red Robins Companions, we believe companionship can change lives. We’re looking for a caring, reliable person to join our wonderful team and help older people continue living independently in the comfort of their own homes.

This is not personal care – it’s about building meaningful relationships while helping with everyday tasks such as:
🏡 Light housekeeping
🧺 Laundry & changing beds
🛒 Shopping & errands
☕ Companionship and conversation
🚗 Trips out and appointments
🍲 Preparing light meals

❤️ 8–10 hours per week
❤️ One weekend day every 4 weeks (1 in 4)
❤️ Flexible hours
❤️ Training and ongoing support
❤️ A rewarding role where every visit makes a difference

💛 The Hardest Part of What We Do… 💛

People often ask us what the hardest part of our job is.

It isn’t the shopping, the housework or the busy days.

It’s saying goodbye.

Over time, our Robins become part of our clients’ lives. We share cups of tea, laughter, stories, birthdays, walks, garden centre trips and so many special moments. We get to know their families, their favourite songs, how they like their tea and what makes them smile.

Sometimes our goodbye comes because a client needs more support than we can provide and moves into residential care. Other times, it’s because they have sadly passed away.

Each goodbye leaves a space that can’t be filled.

We miss seeing their smile when we walk through the door. We miss the conversations, the laughter and the little routines that became part of our week.

But we also feel incredibly privileged.

Privileged that we were trusted to be part of someone’s life. Privileged to have shared so many precious moments and memories. And grateful that we could help someone remain happy, connected and independent at home for as long as possible.

Every client leaves a footprint on our hearts.

They are never “just a client.”

They become part of the Red Robins family. ❤️🐦

Sometimes it’s the simplest moments that mean the most. ❤️

A Belgian bun, a lovely cup of tea, somewhere cool to escape the heat, and a friendly chat with one of our Robins. That’s what companionship is all about.

During this hot weather, many older people are staying indoors, and the days can feel very long. A familiar face, a little outing, and time spent together can lift someone’s spirits more than you might imagine.

At Red Robins Companions, we don’t just help with practical tasks – we build genuine friendships that make every day brighter.

Because growing older shouldn’t mean growing lonely.

☀️❤️ It’s the little things that make the biggest difference… ❤️☀️

With the recent hot weather, one of our biggest priorities has been helping our clients stay cool, comfortable and safe.

When Sheila visited our lovely client Joan, she was still choosing to wear her warmer clothes. Like many older people, Joan didn’t feel the heat in the same way and was reluctant to change.

Because Sheila has built such a lovely relationship with Joan over time, she gently encouraged her to come shopping for some lighter summer dresses. Together they found this beautiful green dress… and doesn’t Joan look wonderful? 💚

More importantly, she’s now so much cooler and more comfortable in the heat.

There was a big sigh of relief from all of us because we know how important it is to help older people stay safe during warmer weather.

At Red Robins Companions, we don’t just complete tasks. We take the time to build trusting relationships, understand each person’s preferences and gently encourage them when they need it most.

Sometimes it’s not about doing something for someone…
It’s about helping them make the right choice, while preserving their dignity, independence and confidence.

It’s these small moments of care that make such a big difference.
